My professional background, for over 20 years, was in commercial and residential construction. I loved working on projects and seeing them come together from their rough beginnings to a beautiful and functional finished product. Seeing all the parts and pieces and colors and textures come together had a very profound effect on me; so much so that I started my college career majoring in Architecture. Designing has always been a passion for me; and as much as construction design and interior design had a special place in my heart, I found as time went on, a different kind of design was calling me...and it wasn’t architecture.
A simple Mother’s Day project that started it all which I lovingly named, "The Leona Collection," as tribute to the influential women in my life and signaled the inception of my original brand - Designs by dVa. The enjoyment I discovered creating repeat patterns and motifs quickly became my passion. As Designs by dVa flourished, I had a deeper reflection on my work and its alignment with my heritage which led me to something that was weighing on my heart for a very long time…. to embrace a new chapter:

Kartoti, meaning "to repeat" or “repeating” in Lithuanian, perfectly encapsulates my love for creating repeat designs that bring rhythm and harmony to any space or project, while also embracing my heritage. Opting for 'Deanna Marie,' I am seeking simplicity and a deeper connection with my community.
Inspiration & Style
Finding inspiration in the organic shapes and colors created in nature, my style has been described as colorful from the simple to the bold. All of which I apply to my Kartoti Designs brand. I've been told my pattern designs and choice of color palettes work very well together and make for a wonderful fit across multiple product categories and lines.
